Defintion of proper interval locality

If events A and B meet this condition then the paper defines them as being properly local.

In Newtonian space and time things can only be local if both the spatial and temporal gulfs separating them have zero magnitude, things literally have to bump into each other to interact. In Minkowski space-time the presence of the minus sign in the metric creates a new form of locality that this paper calls proper interval locality. Where objects are separated by a zero interval gap they are properly local even if they appear to be separated by billions of light years of space. This paper argues that proper interval locality is at the heart of electrodynamics and thus controls virtually everything that happens around us.

The main thrust of proper interval locality theory is that: -

Quantum entities exchange energy via zero interval paths.

We in effect have removed both wave-like and particle-like characteristics from the photon. It now becomes a quantitised package of energy that can jump directly the zero interval gaps between quantum systems. The electromagnetic energy exists either in the emitting system or the absorber system but has no independent existence in space-time between the two.

The carrier particle appears to be a redundant feature of electromagnetism in space-time whose metric is characterised by the inclusion of the minus sign.

The wave-function of light?

The position in space where interactions are likely happen is controlled by a wave-function. If proper interval locality is correct and the photon does not have an independent existence outside the interacting quantum systems then where to does the wave-function come from? The correct theory for the generation of the wave-function is critical to developing a self-consistent theory of electromagnetism in a Minkowski Space-time environment. Shortly we shall develop a theory of how the electro-dynamic wave-function is created but firstly we shall provide some pictorial representations of proper interval locality.
